Natisha Simms

In the working world I enjoyed a successful career in human services, and later as an Information Technology consultant. Upon becoming a mother, my heart shifted and I made the decision to become a stay-at-home mom to focus on raising our children. Our family continued to grow and choosing to educate our children at home became the desired option.

I have homeschooled all four of our children who range in age from 20 to 14 years old. Although our last two children were a set of boy-girl twins, I successfully breastfed all four of them. Providing support and encouragement was something I often offered to those throughout my community. I have always been an advocate of breastfeeding, which stems back to the experience of nursing my own children. In 2020, I successfully completed the JCSU Lactation Training Program and became an IBCLC, International Board Certified Lactation Consultant.

After accomplishing this goal, I shortly realized I desired to become formally trained in supporting and coaching families throughout their pregnancy and birth journey. Becoming a Doula, has made a significant impact on those in my community and allowed me to expand the support I provide. Passion fuels my journey. Educating and advocating for families, especially those that look like me will make a difference in the lives for generations to come.
