Tamika Smith

Tamika is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA), a trained perinatal social worker, and is working toward becoming a DONA-certified birth doula. Tamika has extensive experience supporting families through the pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. Her work as a perinatal social worker opened her eyes to how vulnerable and life-changing this period can be—and how vital it is to have someone walk alongside you during it.

That’s what brought her to doula work: the desire to make sure no one feels alone or unseen during this powerful transition. She has completed extensive training through DONA International, equipping her with the knowledge and skills to provide compassionate, evidence-based birth support. Her mental health background uniquely positions her to recognize emotional needs and connect families to mental health resources during pregnancy and postpartum.

What she loves most about this work is creating a space where parents feel safe to express their fears, ask questions, and prioritize their own well-being. Her personal mantra is: “You deserve support—not just for the baby you’re bringing into the world, but for the person you’re becoming too.”
